Radio Moscow

My last few posts have been about metal, classic metal bands that were either neglected by the mainstream or abandoned before they became big. Lets take a step back and explore neo-psychedelia, because it is my shitty music tastes, i like drug induced songs that have free expression too, just look at Hawkwind

Radio Moscow is definitely a new band i follow, along with Tame Impala and STRFKR (Starfucker for you peasants) that are soft trips rather than hard trips like some other bands would offer

Don't get me wrong, Radio Moscow isn't stoner pop or god forbid it being ambient rock/stoner shit. The band identifies itself with being a throwback to the 1970's bands like Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin.

I see it more as a stoner rock experience, meaning they still sound good and mindbending all at once. Dont be fooled however, this is NOT a hard album, its not what your dad listened to with his mates when he knocked off work, infact you may be ridiculed for openly listening to this and its in the midrange between piss poor mainstream and thrash-core metal, all im going to say about it is: its different which is why i like it

Brain Waves was the first album i listened to by the band, other than the creatively named The Great Escape of Leslie Magnafuzz the rest of the albums by the bands are blues other than anything and to me these 2 albums stand out the most as being good psychedelia rather than hipster garbage. With that said and done, what are they REALLY like?

Well go find out

Enjoy

Nailbomb - Point Blank (1994)

Max Cavalera, a Brazilian man of many wisdoms along with his brother Igor Cavalera, was best known to me (and most likely for others also) to be from the recent and still ongoing Cavalera Conspiracy and in the past as Sepultura, with that sort of brotherhood, the Brady Bunch just sucks dick in comparison

However, a well unknown band, or just known as Max's side project, was Nailbomb. An incredibly short lived band that only existed for less than a year and recorded just one album in 1994 Point Blank. This hardass album also features D.H. Peligro, the drummer from Dead Kennedys and Alex Newport who was known to collaborate with Peggy Sue back in her hey-day. So this wasn't just any garage band that created an album under a working title, it was a pretty fucking serious gig.

Heres some Sepeltura for your uncultured ass

Anyhow, back to the pointblank Nailbomb was an unfortunate end toa  potentially great band, its edgy cover art of a vietnamese woman being held hostage by American troops during the Vietnam conflict reflects perfectly what you're going to be presented with, the first song on the album is just awesome and other parts of the album are above meh but not quite groundbreaking. However, some may call this Max's last 'good' album because its the last one with non repetitive bullshit and decent quality thrash metal. It does have lots of political themes which i absolutely hate but you can really tune this out.

Like all albums up to this point, the torrents are dying for it and it took me nearly a week to download this one, with only 2 seeders and 500mb of .CUE formats, its definitely almost a dead album on the internet. As with everything i upload i advise you check this out otherwise i will skull fuck your eyesockets

Enjoy

Udo - Renovation (1997)

Like Rammstein but only cooler, heaver, better funnier and not as painfully political its Udo!
A classic but forgotten artist from the 80's in Accept and the 90's as the independent recorder, Udo created awesome songs that i could never forget, growing up in my Dad's shed i listened to his stuff all the time and his melodies are unbeatable

To me, i kow him for his song balls to the wall which to me were about protecting yourself from pooftas (not from his solo career however). However, its debated he might have meant the throttles used in fighter planes having ball ends being pushed all the way forward until they touched the dashboard indicating max power

This German motherfucker is awesome, its unfortunate he's as unappreciated as he is

Back to the article title, Udo renovation is a late 1990's album thats honestly stuck in the 80's which is always a nice thing to have, for classic 80's metal you want this in your ears right the fuck now if i was you

Enjoy

Some Advertising shit

Punk, garage punk, shitty punk, proto punk, demo's, straight off tapes and records. I have no idea where he is sourcing his shit but its bloody fantastic stuff, one offs and good stuff exist here.
http://iamtheleastmachiavellian.blogspot.com.au/

Also, Jay Jaze, claiming to be a Vietnam War draftee has been collecting records since before you were a sperm in your dads balls. His collection is fucking HUGE with 500+ videos on American garage core stuff from the 60's and 70's. Again, a lot of one-offs from albums that died before they started.

other than that you can suck my stinky hairy nuts

Candlemass - Psalms for the dead (2012)

Candlemass is a kooky sort of album, its something you find in the back of your dad's music collection, he might have the entire discography but you will never take notice of any of them, your eye scanning across his shelf - a tribute to 80's rock - you always seem to skip this one, and even if you did coincidently picked it up while lazily looking through said collection you immediately put it down because its boring to look at.If this is you, you have certainly missed out some quality doom metal

The music style is influenced by Black Sabbath (and you can here this), being doom metal its slow and daunting with a side of bad, but in a good way. The lead singer for this album is Robert Lowe, although he's good (in fact he is an opera singer) he will never be as iconic to me as Messiah Marclolin who was fantastic for this sort of stuff.and was the original singer for Candlemass

Their topics are kind of heavy but pretty typical and there isn't many surprises., this album sounds like it looks. Nevertheless a decent album that isn't heard about too much so check it out

Enjoy

Nerve City - Red Tops 7"

This ones a special album, not only can i find completely no information about it, but it only really seems to on exist online. In fact, i ripped this album off from another blogspot website

The quality on this is pretty shit, and being that google images said so, i have reason to believe that this was recorded straight off of a bloody record. This one, to me, is like pub punk but a little more speshel, its got a more refined quality to it that a decent cover band writing originality might have or at least something that would make it to a independent music label (which it most properly did)

Unfortunately, there isn't many songs on this one, only 2 songs on side A (from memory) and 1 lp from side B. Too bad, i did like it and from a quick bing search (i used Bing to focus the hipster radiation and more effectively find more about the band) and came up with else more

But shit, im not your mother, find your own shit you goddam retard

Enjoy:
